Police in Pune are still on the lookout for two suspects involved in the gang rape of a 21-year-old woman in Bopdev Ghat. A 28-year-old man, who has a history of robbery cases in the area, has been remanded to police custody until October 15 in connection with the brutal attack that took place on the outskirts of the city.
The victim was out with a male friend when they were both assaulted by three men. The arrested suspect was apprehended eight days after the incident, but two others are still at large. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commended the police for their efforts, with 700 personnel working to solve the case. A reward of ₹10 lakh has been offered for information leading to the capture of the remaining suspects.
