Hey there, Pune folks! Here’s a quick rundown of what went down on Prabhat Road last night. A fire broke out at Krishna Niwas building, causing quite a stir in the neighborhood.
Five two-wheelers and a motorcycle were completely gutted, while two cars parked nearby also suffered some damage. Luckily, no one was hurt, but an elderly woman had to be taken to the hospital after being rescued from the smoke-filled building.
The fire started on the ground floor among the parked two-wheelers and spread quickly to the cars, filling the building with thick smoke. Residents were in a panic as they tried to find a way to safety.
The fire brigade acted swiftly, with three fire engines and water tankers rushing to the scene. The firefighters, led by Officer Gajanan Pathrudkar, worked tirelessly to control the blaze and rescue those trapped inside.
Within 30 minutes, the fire was brought under control, and seven people, including the elderly woman, were safely rescued. Preliminary investigations suggest that a short circuit at an electric two-wheeler charging station may have been the cause of the fire.
Residents are relieved that no serious injuries were reported. Fire Brigade Officer Gajanan Pathrudkar praised the quick response of the team and the safe evacuation of all residents.
Stay safe out there, Pune!
