For those who might not be up to speed, the co-operative bank was liquidated on November 1, 2022, and Dhananjay Doiphode has been appointed as the Liquidator. He’s now in charge of overseeing the refund process for depositors who didn’t receive their promised sum up to Rs 5 lakh.
Since the liquidation, the bank has already refunded deposits worth a whopping Rs 796.20 crore. That’s a whole lot of money being sent back to its rightful owners! And there’s still more to come, as the bank is working on processing all applications for refunds up to Rs 5 lakh.
