Residents in Pune are facing a dire situation as a foul stench engulfs their neighborhood, leading to health concerns and fears of long-term health impacts. The strong odor has led to numerous complaints of respiratory diseases among residents, with senior citizens, young children, and individuals with asthma being particularly vulnerable.

Despite submitting a formal letter to Sandip Kadam, Assistant Commissioner of Solid Waste Management, on May 17, 2024, residents have seen no action taken to address the issue. The situation continues to worsen, leaving many residents feeling helpless.

In response to the lack of action, residents are now calling on the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to intervene immediately. They are demanding either a permanent solution to the toxic smell or the closure of the plant responsible for the foul odor. Residents argue that access to clean air is a basic human right that has been denied to them for too long.

Residents are hopeful that the PMC will act swiftly to address their concerns and ensure their health and safety are protected. The community is united in their plea for a prompt resolution to the ongoing issue.
