Hey there, Pune! Here’s some juicy news for you on this fine day. Praveen Lonkar, brother of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi Gang member Shubham Lonkar, found himself in hot water recently. He was nabbed by the crime branch in connection with the murder of NCP-Ajit Pawar Group leader Baba Siddique.
Seems like the Bishnoi Gang has been causing quite a stir in Pune, prompting the police to start putting together a list of its members. Before Siddique’s tragic demise, Shubham had even issued a chilling threat on social media, sending the Mumbai Police on a wild goose chase to track him down. But instead, they caught his brother Praveen in the Warje area.
Both Praveen and Shubham are suspected to be involved in the murder. Shubham, hailing from Akola district, is believed to be an active member of the gang. The Pune police are now on a mission to gather intel on all the gang members, with plans to compile a detailed list in the works.
Shubham and his family moved to Pune back in 2011. He used to be a part of the NCC during his school days and later dabbled in selling veggies before getting lured into the Bishnoi Gang through social media. Despite his family trying to limit his phone use, Shubham disappeared in July and is thought to have escaped to Rajasthan to join forces with the gang.
This isn’t the first time the Lonkar brothers have had a run-in with the law. Back in 2022, they were busted by the Akola police for illegal possession of firearms, with a stash of five pistols being seized. After getting bail, Praveen set up Lonkar Dairy in Warje. The hunt for Shubham is still on as the police ramp up their efforts to track him down.
