Passengers flying out of Pune airport are facing overcrowding issues at the old terminal, despite the new terminal being operational for over three months. With 37 flights still being managed through the old terminal, long delays at security checkpoints have become a common occurrence.

One anonymous flyer shared their frustrations after experiencing a 45-minute wait at the security check queue early Monday morning. Another passenger flying to Chennai also expressed their concerns about the long queues and lack of sufficient security check machines.

Pune airport recorded 200 flight movements on Sunday, with officials expecting this number to increase as the winter schedule approaches. IndiGo, SpiceJet, and two international flights to Dubai and Singapore continue to operate from the old terminal, while the new terminal has been functional since July.

Despite questions about why some flights are still operating from the old terminal, an IndiGo spokesperson mentioned they are following directives from airport officials. The Airport Director did not address the overcrowding issues, but an official acknowledged that flight delays sometimes cause bottlenecks.

Passengers have also raised concerns about the conditions at the new terminal, with one frequent flyer suggesting that both terminals are being kept operational to handle increased travel during the Diwali season. However, they emphasized the importance of having infrastructure in place to handle crowds without causing problems.
