Hey there, folks! Here’s the latest scoop from Pune – the DNA test of Shoaib Akhtar, also known as Shoaib Babu Sheikh, is on the horizon. This comes in light of his involvement in the Bopdev Ghat gang rape case, where he allegedly spat at the crime scene. Yikes!

According to reports, the police have collected blood, nail, and saliva samples from Sheikh, which will be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. The court has ordered that Sheikh be kept in police custody until 22nd October to aid in the investigation.

The incident in question took place on 3rd October when a young woman was gang-raped at Bopdev Ghat while out for a walk with a friend. Sheikh was nabbed by the Crime Branch in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, with his accomplice already in custody. The hunt is still on for the third suspect.

During the heinous act, the accused allegedly threatened the victim and her friend, stealing a gold chain, a gold pendant, and a silver ring. These items, along with compensation, are to be recovered from Sheikh, along with the bike they used to flee the scene. The investigation will also delve into who provided shelter to Sheikh post the crime.

The public prosecutor has requested police custody for Sheikh to conduct a potency test, which has been granted by the court. The investigation is being led by Police Inspector Yuvraj Hande of Crime Branch Unit 5, under the supervision of top officials.
