Pune Engineering Students Shine at Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon, Win Three Awards
In a remarkable display of talent and innovation, students from G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management (GHRCEM) in Pune have clinched three prestigious awards at the Barclays-Capgemini Ideathon 2024, organized by ICT Academy. Outshining 106 teams from all over the country, these students demonstrated their technical prowess and creativity, earning well-deserved recognition.
The award-winning teams and their achievements are as follows:
First Prize: The team New Gen Innovators (CSDS) led by Shubham Santosh Singh walked away with the first prize, bagging a cash reward of ₹1 lakh. The team, comprising of Shubham Singh, Satyam Vishwakarma, Gaurav Shirsat, Preeti Devadiga, Sneha Kumari, and Shruti Varankar, showcased their innovative solutions under the mentorship of Hemant Chaudhari and Dr. Deepika Ajalkar.
Second Prize: The team Concept Crew, led by Aditya Dandare from the Computer Engineering department, secured the second prize, receiving ₹75,000 and certificates for their groundbreaking approach.
Spotlight Award: The Power Rangers 2.0 (Data Science) team, led by Anuj Shukla, was recognized with the Spotlight Award, clinching the third prize along with a cash reward of ₹25,000. Team members Prasad Dhend, Kshitija Gosavi, and Vaishnavi Hande were guided by mentorship from Dr. Deepika Ajalkar and Dr. Arti Patle.
The award ceremony, held at Barclays, saw the presence of Neelesh Sirdeshmukh, ICT Coordinator, and Dr. Swapnil Mahajan, Head of Innovation and Incubation, who provided guidance to the students throughout the event. Dr. R.D. Kharadkar, Campus Director of GHRCEM Pune, expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements, highlighting their exceptional innovation, hard work, and dedication as a testament to the quality education and mentorship at GHRCEM.
