Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Pune today – the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a new case against IPS officer Bhagyashree Navtake. Apparently, there were some irregularities in her handling of the BHR Scam investigation in Jalgaon.

Navtake, who used to be the DCP of the Economic Offenses Wing (EoW) in Pune City Police, is being accused of mishandling a case related to defrauding members of a credit institution in collaboration with the liquidator of BHR and others. Yikes!

The investigation into this scam started when cases were initially registered at Deccan Police Station, Alandi, and Pimpri-Chinchwad during the Mahavikas Aghadi government’s tenure. Navtake then led several raids across Jalgaon, causing quite a stir with simultaneous operations by women police officers in different locations.

The whole thing started with a complaint filed by suspected accused Sunil Zanwar and Kunal Shah, alleging procedural lapses by Navtake. The Crime Branch of Pune Police looked into the BHR embezzlement based on this complaint, and a report was submitted to the state home department by the CID. This led to a formal complaint being lodged against Navtake by the current Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle.

Eventually, the Maharashtra state government decided to transfer the investigation to the CBI. The central agency has now registered a new case against Navtake, citing charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy. It’s alleged that Navtake failed to take appropriate legal action and may have had ulterior motives in her handling of the case.

The CBI is currently gathering evidence against Navtake, with accusations that she rushed through filing charges and ignored established procedures during the investigation. Looks like there’s more to come as the CBI digs deeper into Navtake’s role in the BHR Scam investigation. Stay tuned for updates!
