Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar means business, warning that driving in the opposite direction could lead to your vehicle being impounded for a whopping six months.
With rush hour traffic on the rise, accidents have been increasing due to violations of traffic rules. Apparently, more drivers are going against the flow of traffic. To combat this dangerous trend, the Traffic Branch has launched a full-on campaign against these reckless drivers. In fact, over 200 vehicles have been impounded in just the last two weeks.
Commissioner Kumar pointed out that ongoing construction and development projects are contributing to the chaos on the roads, especially during peak hours. That’s why heavy vehicles have been banned during the busiest times of the day, and the traffic police are not messing around when it comes to enforcement.

– Driving in the Opposite Direction: 21,285
– Triple Seating Violations: 2,872
– Drunk Driving Offenses: 570
