Hey there, Pune peeps! Looks like the District Collector, Dr. Suhas Diwase, is laying down the law when it comes to election campaigning in Pune District.
In a recent move, Dr. Diwase has put the brakes on political parties and contesting candidates using more than ten motor cars for their convoys or fleets during campaign season. This restriction order will be in effect until 25th November 2024, so better stick to the rules if you don’t want to face some serious consequences.
According to the Collector, violators of this order will be in hot water under the Representation of the People Act of 1951 and Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita of 2023. So, if you’re thinking of going overboard with your motorcade, think again!
Let’s all play fair and square during the elections, Pune. Remember, following the rules is always the best policy!
