Orange County Group, a sustainable real estate developer, is making waves with their latest project – the construction of India’s first sustainable Township. With over 700 flats already built in a sustainable manner, the group is now taking on the challenge of creating a truly eco-friendly community.

Their latest endeavor, EvoGreen City in Dehu, Pune, is set to be the home of the World’s Largest Stepwell. The stepwell will be a whopping 7 times larger than India’s current largest step well in Abhaneri, Jaipur. With a depth of 20m and a surface area of 8,000 sqm, this stepwell will have an enormous water capacity of 9 Cr. liters.

What sets Orange County apart is their commitment to sustainable construction practices. They have been in the business for 18 years, focusing on using alternative materials like quicklime instead of cement to reduce internal temperatures by 7-8 degrees. Their dedication to sustainability has even earned them a mention in the Limca Book of Records for operating India’s first building entirely on renewable energy.

For their latest project, Orange County has partnered with German architects, scholars, and prestigious universities to ensure the township is at the forefront of eco-friendly design. They have also planted over 2 lakh trees in the vicinity and will be implementing the Waldorf schooling system in the township.

The construction of the stepwell is estimated to take 3 years, with a bhoomi pooja ceremony led by actress Sonalee Kulkarni and water conservationist Shailaja Deshpande. The goal is to operate the entire township using water stored and treated from the stepwell for generations to come.

Orange County Group’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is truly commendable, and we can’t wait to see the completion of India’s first sustainable Township.
