The citizens of Balewadi can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the long-awaited 220 KV power substation for Baner-Balewadi is finally becoming a reality. Thanks to the relentless efforts of the Balewadi Welfare Federation, the project that was stalled for years due to lack of land space has now been given the green light.
After months of follow-ups and meetings with MSEDCL, Mahatransco, Collector’s office, and Divisional Commissioner’s office, the Federation was able to secure 0.65 hectares of land in Balewadi Survey no. 4/1 for the substation. This major milestone would not have been possible without the support of Kothrud MLA and Cabinet Minister Chandrakant Patil, whose help was instrumental in getting the land allocated.
Members of the Federation, including Ashok Nawal, Ramesh Rokade, Moreshwar Balwadkar, Ashish Kotamkar, and Adv. Mashalkar, worked tirelessly to make this project a reality. Jt. Secy. Moreshwar Balwadkar expressed confidence that once the substation becomes operational, the electricity problems of Baner-Balewadi would be a thing of the past.
Today, the Federation had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Chandrakant Dada Patil to express their gratitude for his support. This exciting development marks a significant step forward in addressing the electricity needs of the community and ensuring a more reliable power supply for years to come.
