If you’ve ever driven down Shankar Sheth Road near Dhobi Ghat in Camp, you know how treacherous the road can be. And unfortunately, last night was no different when a four-wheeler overturned after accidentally mounting a broken road divider.

Thankfully, there were no casualties reported in the incident, but it is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by the damaged divider in the middle of the road. Three individuals were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident, and they were lucky to escape without any serious injuries.

The broken divider has been a known hazard in the area, with it becoming almost invisible to drivers at night. This, coupled with the unbalanced and severely damaged road surface, makes for a recipe for disaster, especially during the rainy season when potholes and scattered gravel further exacerbate the situation.

Despite numerous complaints from commuters and local residents to the Pune Cantonment Board, little has been done to address the issue. It’s a frustrating situation for those who rely on this road daily, as they continue to navigate the dangers posed by the neglected infrastructure.

Hopefully, this incident serves as a wake-up call for authorities to take action and ensure the safety of all road users in the area. Until then, drivers will need to exercise caution when traveling along Shankar Sheth Road to avoid any potential accidents.
