Hey there, folks! Big political news coming out of Maharashtra today. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has just dropped their second list of candidates for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections, and it’s got everyone talking. Three of these new candidates are from Pune, including the controversial ‘migrant’ leader Gopichand Padalkar.

In Kasba Peth, a key BJP stronghold, Hemant Rasane has been named as the candidate. This decision didn’t come without drama though, as BJP Pune City President Dheeraj Ghate was vying for the spot himself. Tensions ran high during the campaigning, with Rasane and Ghate throwing some verbal jabs at each other. In the end, Rasane managed to secure the nomination, despite his previous by-election defeat.

Meanwhile, sitting MLA Bhimrao Tapkir will be representing BJP in Khadakwasla, and Sunil Dnyandev Kamble will be the face of the party in Pune Cantonment. With these new additions, BJP is set to contest in six constituencies in Pune city, including Kothrud, Shivajinagar, and Parvati.

But the real talk of the town is Gopichand Padalkar, who is set to challenge sitting MLA Vikram Singh Sawant of the Congress in Jat constituency. Padalkar, a ‘migrant’ leader who previously ran against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is ready to make his mark in his native constituency in Sangli district.

So, buckle up, folks! The Maharashtra elections are heating up, and with these new candidates in the mix, it’s bound to be an exciting ride. Stay tuned for more updates on this political rollercoaster!
