Meanwhile, sitting MLA Bhimrao Tapkir will be representing BJP in Khadakwasla, and Sunil Dnyandev Kamble will be the face of the party in Pune Cantonment. With these new additions, BJP is set to contest in six constituencies in Pune city, including Kothrud, Shivajinagar, and Parvati.
But the real talk of the town is Gopichand Padalkar, who is set to challenge sitting MLA Vikram Singh Sawant of the Congress in Jat constituency. Padalkar, a ‘migrant’ leader who previously ran against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, is ready to make his mark in his native constituency in Sangli district.
