Pune’s Katraj Dairy is spreading the festive spirit this Diwali by distributing a whopping ₹12.23 crore in bonuses to its farmers and staff. The cooperative union, known for its commitment to supporting local farmers, has allocated profits from last year to benefit those who work hard to bring fresh milk to Pune’s households.
Farmers are receiving a bonus of ₹1 per liter, totaling ₹6.43 crore, directly deposited into their accounts. In addition, the regular milk bill for the ten-day cycle, amounting to ₹5.8 crore, has been released just in time for the holiday season.
Not forgetting its dedicated staff, Katraj Dairy is also providing a special Diwali bonus of ₹1.82 crore to employees, reflecting the union’s appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
Recognizing the high demand for its products, Katraj Dairy has expanded its range of festive sweets gift packs this Diwali. With an anticipated demand of 50 tons, up from 30 tons last year, the cooperative is prepared to meet the needs of its customers during the festive season.
Operating under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Katraj Dairy operates on a cooperative model that prioritizes the welfare of local farmers. With 70% of profits allocated towards benefiting farmers, the union is focused on ensuring sustainable growth for its members.
