Hey bird enthusiasts, listen up! Pune is currently the place to be for all your bird watching needs. Thanks to the monsoon season, the city is now a hotspot for migratory birds looking for some rest and relaxation.
The Vetal Tekdi area in Pune is currently bustling with activity as birders flock to catch a glimpse of some special visitors. From Common Cuckoos to Jacobin Cuckoos, these feathered friends are making a pit stop in Pune before heading off to Africa. But that’s not all – species like the Blue-throated Flycatcher and Rusty-tailed Flycatcher are also making an appearance before they make their way to the Western Ghats forests.
Ranjit Rane, a dedicated bird watcher and member of the Vetal Tekdi Bachao Kruti Samiti, shared that birders are going wild trying to spot these beautiful creatures. And to make sure everyone gets a chance to see them, the organization is hosting the second ‘Vetal Tekdi Birding Marathon’ from November 7 to 12.
But the fun doesn’t stop there – Eastern Orphean Warblers, Blue Rock Thrushes, and Siberian Stonechats are also dropping by Pune and its surrounding areas for a visit. So grab your binoculars and join in on the excitement because Pune is the place to be for bird watching this season!
