The Chinchwad Assembly constituency in Pune district has emerged as Maharashtra’s largest by voter count, boasting a total of 6,63,622 voters. This constituency comprises 3,48,450 male, 3,15,115 female, and 57 third-gender voters. The battle for the seat saw the BJP ultimately secure it with Shankar Jagtap as the candidate, defeating the NCP faction led by Ajit Pawar. The incumbent MLA Ashwini Jagtap holds the position, while Rahul Kalate is the NCP (SP) candidate for the same constituency. With 32 candidates in the fray, the nomination withdrawal deadline is set for November 4.

The top 5 largest constituencies by voter count in Maharashtra include Chinchwad, Panvel, Hadapsar, Bhosari, and Nalasopara. These constituencies not only have high voter numbers but also attract significant attention from key political players within the state.

On the other hand, Maharashtra’s smallest assembly seats, such as Mumbadevi, Kalina, Bandra East, Ghatkopar East, and Rajapur, exhibit much lower voter populations, mostly in specific urban and semi-urban areas.

The diversity in voter distribution across both large and small constituencies in Maharashtra sets the stage for a highly anticipated assembly election season, with Chinchwad being a key battleground between the BJP and NCP candidates.
