The Lok Sabha 2024 results have caused quite a stir in Maharashtra, with the Mahavikas Aghadi emerging victorious over the Mahayuti coalition. The Mahavikas Aghadi, consisting of the Indian National Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena, secured a total of 31 seats, with an independent candidate pledging allegiance to the Congress. On the other hand, the Mahayuti coalition only managed to secure 17 seats in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, faced some setbacks in this election, winning only one out of the four seats he contested in. He expressed disappointment with the results, particularly in Baramati where he lost, and took full responsibility for the outcome. Ajit Pawar also addressed allegations made by MLC Amol Mitkari and clarified that he had done his best to convince voters but fell short.

There was controversy surrounding a statement made by a BJP Minister regarding ending Sharad Pawar in Baramati before the elections, which did not sit well with the people. Ajit Pawar acknowledged the negative impact of such remarks and emphasized the need to avoid such mistakes in future elections.

In a recent party meeting led by Ajit Pawar, five NCP MLAs were absent, citing personal reasons. Despite their absence, all MLAs were briefed about the meeting’s proceedings and there was no communication with the opposition from any of the absent MLAs. It was reported that MLA Aatram Dharamraobaba Bhagwantrao, Narhari Zirwal, Sunil Tingre, Rajendra Shingane, and Anna Bansode were unable to attend due to various reasons.
