In a bizarre incident in Pune, two men, Akshay Ankush Gaikwad (27) and Sunil Chandrakant Shinde (28), landed themselves in trouble after a video of them brandishing what appeared to be a real pistol went viral on social media. The Sinhagad Road police sprang into action and launched a search for the duo.
The video showed the men riding a two-wheeler and threatening other drivers while displaying the weapon. However, upon further investigation, it was revealed that the pistol was actually a toy intended for bursting Diwali cracker caps. Senior Police Inspector Raghvendra Singh Kshirsagar confirmed that charges were filed against the men for causing public fear with the fake weapon.
Both Gaikwad and Shinde are currently in Sinhagad police custody, and a case has been registered against them under various sections of the law. The Pune Police have reiterated that the weapon in question was indeed a fake one, and the men will face the consequences of their reckless actions.
