Hey there, Pune peeps! Looks like the authorities in Pune District have been busy cracking down on illegal activities during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. According to the latest update from the Pune District Collector’s Office, items worth a whopping Rs 16.34 crore have been confiscated since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.

The highest seizure was reported in Khadakwasla Constituency, where items worth Rs 5.22 crore were confiscated. Following closely behind is Shirur with Rs 4.27 crore and Bhor with Rs 1.36 crore. On the flip side, it seems like Ambegaon, Pimpri, and Shivajinagar didn’t have as much luck, with only Rs 4.35 lakh, Rs 6.16 lakh, and Rs 6.53 lakh worth of items seized, respectively.

So, what exactly was confiscated? Well, authorities found a whopping Rs 9.01 crore in cash, Rs 3.05 crore worth of liquor, Rs 40 lakh worth of drugs, and precious metals amounting to Rs 1.04 crore. Interestingly, Shirur Constituency stood out as the only one where a significant quantity of precious metals was recovered. And let’s not forget the staggering 4.35 lakh litres of liquor that was seized overall.
