Kharadi residents can finally breathe a sigh of relief as MLA Sunil Tingre promises to make the area “tanker-free” with the Bhama Askhed water project. Tingre criticized previous leaders for their ineffective leadership over the past 30 years, leading to the persistent water shortages in the area. Residents expressed their frustration with the reliance on water tankers, but Tingre assured them that the project, approved in 2012 and completed during his tenure, will resolve the issue.
During a padyatra in Kharadi, Tingre also discussed plans to improve traffic flow in the area and neighboring Chandannagar, Wagholi, and Vadgaonsheri. He highlighted the removal of the BRT system in certain areas to reduce congestion and announced the construction of new flyovers, including grade separator flyovers at Kharadi Bypass and Shastrinagar Chowk. The Shirur-Pune flyover will also be extended to Ramwadi, making major city roads signal-free and improving daily commutes for residents.
Local leaders and activists, including Sachin Satpute and Shailajit Bansode, were present during the padyatra to show their support for Tingre’s initiatives. With the Bhama Askhed water project and traffic improvement plans in place, Kharadi residents can look forward to a brighter future ahead.
