With just a few days left until the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, the Pune City Police Commissionerate is cracking down on campaigning activities to maintain peace and order in the city. The directive, issued by Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma, is clear – all campaigning must come to a halt 48 hours before polling day.
The constituencies under the Pune City Police Commissionerate’s jurisdiction are many, including Shirur, Purandar, Bhor, Vadgaonsheri, and more. Candidates are being warned against holding unlawful gatherings, public meetings, or rallies with more than five people within these constituencies. The restrictions will kick in at 6 PM on 18th November and will stay in place until the end of polling day on 20th November.
This move is aimed at ensuring a smooth electoral process and preventing any untoward incidents in the lead-up to the elections. With tensions running high and stakes even higher, it’s crucial for all candidates and their supporters to abide by these rules set forth by the Pune City Police Commissionerate. Stay tuned for more updates on the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections as the countdown to polling day continues.
