If you live in or around Pune and have been frustrated by the never-ending traffic jams, there’s good news on the horizon. The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, recently announced the Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru expressway, a project that aims to ease traffic congestion in the Pimpri Chinchwad area. This expressway, which is part of a larger plan to build ring roads across the region, is expected to cost around Rs 55,000 crore.
But that’s not all – Gadkari also revealed other road development projects that will transform the region’s infrastructure. Flyovers and elevated sections, with a budget of Rs 80,000 crore, will be constructed to alleviate traffic in Pune city. Additionally, important highways such as the Solapur-Yavat and Narhe-Ravet routes will be upgraded, along with the Nashik Phata to Khed route receiving a hefty investment of Rs 8,000 crore.
One of the standout projects is the Talegaon-Chakan Elevated Road, set to cost Rs 7,000 crore. This elevated road will enhance connectivity between Talegaon and Chakan, further improving traffic flow in the region.
Gadkari emphasized his dedication to seeing these projects through to completion, promising to actively monitor progress and ensure that deadlines are met. With these initiatives, he aims to not only ease the burden on commuters but also drive economic growth in the region.
So, if you’ve been dreading your daily commute between Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru, fret not – relief is on the way, thanks to these ambitious road development projects led by Nitin Gadkari.
