Punekars woke up to a chilly morning today as the city recorded the lowest minimum temperature in Maharashtra at 11 degrees Celsius. The sudden drop in mercury has caught many residents off guard, especially after the relatively warmer weather during the Diwali festivities.
Meteorologists are predicting that the cold spell in Pune is set to continue over the next few days, with temperatures expected to dip even further. The influx of cold winds from the north is to blame for the sudden change in weather, as the rainy spell in Maharashtra has finally come to an end.
Other areas in Pune also experienced a significant drop in temperatures, with NDA recording 11.6 degrees Celsius and Shivajinagar at 12.9 degrees. The chilly weather is expected to persist, with minimum temperatures in some areas reaching as low as 11.6 degrees Celsius.
While southern states are currently experiencing rain due to a cyclonic circulation over the Comorin region, northern India is enjoying clear skies that are amplifying the cold conditions. Punekars are advised to bundle up and brace themselves for the chilly weather ahead.
So, if you’re in Pune, make sure to grab your sweaters and jackets because it looks like winter has finally arrived in the city! Stay warm, Punekars!
