The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is facing a bit of a dilemma when it comes to finding the perfect location for a new dog park. They have been considering a plot in Baner, but it seems that another civic department also has their eyes on it. Talk about confusion!
The veterinary department has pointed out that the Baner plot is less than one acre in size, which might not be big enough to provide all the amenities they had in mind, like veterinary services. Despite this setback, the PMC is still optimistic that they can turn the Baner plot into a pet park.
Over in Pimpri Chinchwad, the Municipal Corporation has already opened a fancy new dog park earlier this year. It seems like the pressure is on for PMC to catch up and get their dog park project off the ground.
Local residents are excited about the prospect of a dedicated dog park. Sushma Trivedi, a Pune resident, thinks it’s a great idea for pet owners and people who are a bit scared of dogs. Plus, it’ll give the furry friends some freedom to run around without a leash.
To add to the pressure, former minister Maneka Gandhi has sent a letter to PMC, urging them to speed up the process. With so much demand for a dog park, it looks like PMC better get moving before the residents start barking up a storm.
