Hey Pune folks! Big news for all government office employees who commute on two-wheelers – helmets are now mandatory! The Pune RTO has finally started cracking down on those who don’t follow the rules.

Starting yesterday, RTO teams were stationed outside government offices to check if employees were wearing helmets. This move comes after a directive from the State Transport Department, following court orders making helmets compulsory for all two-wheeler riders.

Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao means business – he’s warned of strict action against anyone caught without a helmet. So, if you work for the government and ride a two-wheeler, make sure you’ve got your helmet on!

Right now, the focus is on raising awareness and educating employees. But soon, this rule will apply to everyone visiting government offices. So, better safe than sorry – wear that helmet!

This initiative goes back to a circular issued by the State Transport Commissioner two years ago. But it’s only now that they’re really cracking down on it. Better late than never, right? Stay safe out there, Pune!
