Sad news in Pune today as former corporator of Ward No. 21 Ghorpadi-Koregaon Park, Latatai Dhayarkar, has passed away at the age of 66. She had been battling an illness for the past few days and leaves behind her husband, children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.

Latatai Dhayarkar was a remarkable woman who went from being an ordinary housewife to a corporator in the PMC on the BJP ticket in 2017. Known for her focus on sustainable development work, she worked tirelessly to improve the entire ward, including projects like a police post, wrestling arena, and immersion ghat on the canal.

Despite her many accomplishments, Latatai always shied away from the limelight and preferred to quietly serve her community. Even during the height of the pandemic, she continued to work from home to ensure the needs of her constituents were met.

Unfortunately, Latatai’s health took a turn for the worse recently and she was receiving treatment at Ruby Hospital before passing away today at 4 p.m. Her son, Kishor Dhayarkar, who is a prominent figure in the Mundhwa-Keshav Nagar area and BJP general secretary of Hadapsar constituency, is now left to carry on her legacy.

The news of Latatai Dhayarkar’s death has left many in Pune mourning the loss of a dedicated public servant and beloved community member. She will be remembered for her selfless dedication to improving the lives of those around her.
