Pune Metro has been making great strides in improving connectivity and easing commuter travel times with the successful launch of Line 1 and Line 2. However, two crucial stations, Khadki and Range Hills, on Line 1 remain non-operational, causing inconvenience for commuters in those areas.
Khadki Station is expected to start operations in December after completing construction and awaiting approval from the CMRS. Once operational, it will enhance connectivity in the northern part of Pune.
On the other hand, Range Hills Station’s construction has not yet begun due to waiting for more nearby developments. However, plans are in place to start construction next month, with a goal to integrate the station with the Agricultural College grounds.
Once both Khadki and Range Hills stations are operational, the efficiency and reach of Pune Metro network will be significantly enhanced, benefiting thousands of daily commuters. The delay in operationalization poses challenges for commuters, but with progress on Khadki and plans for Range Hills, Pune’s metro network will continue to evolve, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable urban transport system.
