A horrifying incident took place in Alandi on Sunday when a family fell victim to a brutal robbery. The father had gone to participate in the Kartiki Ekadashi Wari, leaving his wife and two sons at home. In the middle of the night, the sons were awakened by their mother’s screams, and they found themselves locked inside their own home. When they tried to open the door, they were met with threats and abuse from an unknown person outside.
Desperate for help, the sons opened the windows and called their cousins, who arrived just in time to chase the suspects away. The robbers had already taken a bag containing Rs 3,000, jewelry, and clothes. The bag was later found discarded in a nearby sugarcane farm, but the valuables were missing, leaving the family devastated.
Senior Inspector Sandesh Kenjale of the Shirur police assured the public that they have registered a case under Section 309 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are actively searching for the perpetrators. The family is left shaken by the traumatic experience and is now seeking justice for the heinous crime that was committed against them.
