Hey there, Pune folks! Looks like there’s some buzz around the much-anticipated ring road project in town. The land acquisition process involving 36 villages in the district is still hanging in the balance. But fear not, District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase is on the case!
In a recent review meeting with sub-divisional officers and land acquisition authorities, Dr. Diwase cracked the whip and set a deadline for finalizing all remaining land acquisitions by 31st December 2024. Talk about setting the pace!
So far, 80% of the land for the eastern section and a whopping 98% for the western section of the ring road has been acquired. But hold your horses, folks. There are still some pesky issues causing delays in several villages.
In Maval, Purandar, Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Bhor talukas, there are unresolved matters like pending compensation and land acquisition that are holding up the show. Dr. Diwase is not messing around though. He’s instructed officials to get farmers on board and if that fails, compulsory acquisition methods will be put into action.
The clock is ticking, and the pressure is on to get these acquisitions sorted ASAP. Dr. Diwase is adamant about meeting the December-end deadline to keep the ring road project on track. After all, this road is crucial for easing traffic congestion and boosting connectivity in Pune.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that all these land acquisition hurdles get cleared up soon so we can hit the fast lane towards a smoother commute in Pune!
