If you’re a driver in the Shivajinagar area, you might have noticed some changes to the usual traffic routes. And that’s because a temporary diversion has been put in place to help ease congestion during the metro girder installation at Veer Chaphekar Chowk.

So, if you usually travel from Wakadewadi or Patil Estate (Madgulkar Underpass), you’ll need to take a different route for the time being. Head over to Simla Office Chowk and then make your way to Wadi. This diversion is for both three-wheelers and four-wheelers, and it’s all in an effort to keep traffic flowing smoothly while construction is underway.

If you’re used to taking the Madgulkar Underpass on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, you’ll need to find an alternative route. Instead, follow the Sancheti Chowk route to get where you need to go.

These changes have been put into place by Rohidas Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Transport, Pune City, Shivajinagar. And they’re effective immediately, with updates to come as the metro work continues.

Stay informed and stay safe on the road during this time of change in the Shivajinagar area.
