The Bombay High Court has made a significant decision in the case of Manorama Khedkar, the mother of former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar. After a video went viral showing Manorama threatening someone with a pistol during a land dispute, the Pune Police Commissioner had canceled her pistol license. However, the High Court has now overturned this decision, stating that the police did not follow proper legal procedure.
The incident took place in Mulshi taluka and caused quite a stir, leading to the police taking action against Manorama Khedkar. Her legal team argued that the police did not follow the correct legal process, which ultimately led to the cancellation of her license being deemed null and void by the court.
This case is just one part of the controversy surrounding the Khedkar family. Puja Khedkar was dismissed from the civil service six months ago, which brought other allegations against the family to light. The viral video of Manorama Khedkar brandishing a pistol only added fuel to the fire.
Manorama Khedkar was arrested in Raigad district in July 2024 but was later granted bail with the condition that she stay away from Mulshi taluka. Puja Khedkar’s case has also raised concerns about misconduct, including accusations of misusing government privileges and using fraudulent documents during the UPSC examination.
The legal troubles and controversies surrounding the Khedkar family continue to unfold, with this recent court ruling shedding new light on the situation.
