The 125th convocation ceremony of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) was a grand success, with Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog and Former Chancellor of JNU, Delhi, as the chief guest. Dr. Saraswat emphasized the importance of sustainability and innovation in the fields of science and engineering, urging students to tackle global challenges. The ceremony saw a total of 93,219 students being awarded degrees, with 28 gold medals presented to outstanding students by Dr. Saraswat. A special convocation edition of Vidyapith Varta was also unveiled during the event. The university officials, including Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi and Prof. (Dr.) Parag Kalkar, highlighted the role of education in preparing students for the knowledge-driven economy of the future.
