The Southern Command of the Indian Army recently organized a massive blood donation drive across 21 locations in southern India, collecting a total of 1,537 units of blood. The initiative, conducted ahead of the 77th Army Day celebrations, aimed at meeting the critical needs of blood banks and raising awareness about the importance of blood donation.

Themed “Donate Blood – Save Lives”, the campaign saw participation from a diverse group of donors including army personnel, veterans, NCC cadets, civil defense employees, university students, teachers, and civilians from various backgrounds. The collected blood units were promptly delivered to hospitals and healthcare facilities to benefit patients in need.

In Pune, the drive took place at Command Hospital, Southern Command and Military Hospital, Kirkee, with a total of 120 blood units collected. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various groups, showcasing the community’s commitment to social responsibility.

The initiative not only made a life-saving contribution to those in need but also engaged individuals from all walks of life in understanding and fulfilling their civic duties. The Southern Command expressed gratitude to all participants for their support, emphasizing its dedication to nation-building and the welfare of citizens through such impactful initiatives.
