It seems like the Porsche incident that shook Pune’s Kalyani Nagar has now made its way to the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway. But it looks like the Pimpri Chinchwad Police didn’t quite catch on to the lesson learned from the Kalyani Nagar incident.

In a recent incident at Bhujbal Chowk in Wakad, under the watchful eye of the Hinjawadi Police Station, a woman was struck by a speeding car while walking along the highway. The impact was so severe that she was thrown several feet away, and the car crashed into a nearby shop. The CCTV footage captured the entire dramatic scene, revealing the extent of the woman’s injuries.

Despite the clear evidence captured on camera, no formal complaint was lodged about the accident. As a result, the driver was released by the Hinjawadi Police. Surprisingly, neither the woman nor her family decided to take legal action against the driver, even though the footage suggests that her injuries were serious.

The Hinjawadi Police justified their decision by stating that since the woman’s injuries were not deemed severe, they did not see the need to pursue the matter further without a formal complaint. However, given the recent backlash faced by the Pune Police after the Kalyani Nagar incident, many are questioning why the Pimpri Chinchwad Police didn’t take a more proactive approach and file a complaint themselves.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws. It remains to be seen how the authorities will respond to this latest development in the ongoing saga of reckless driving incidents in the region.
