From December 20th to 25th, head over to the College of Agriculture Ground in Sinchan Nagar to experience a fantastic display of Maharashtra’s rural arts, culture, and sustainable innovation.
This year’s Jatra is extra special as it commemorates the 25th Death Anniversary of Padmashree (Late) Shri Appasaheb Pawar, a legendary agriculturalist known for his revolutionary work in drip irrigation. To honor his legacy, a memorial section will be set up at the entrance, showcasing his life and groundbreaking achievements.
Expect over 1 lakh visitors at Bhimthadi Jatra 2024, making it a hub for promoting rural entrepreneurship and cultural exchange. The event will feature a Farmers’ Produce Section highlighting “Residue-Free” products and GI-tagged items, as well as an Indigenous Plant Garden to educate visitors on the importance of pollinators in agriculture.
Don’t miss the Bhimthadi Select Section with premium stalls offering sustainable textiles and handcrafted lifestyle products, the Swayamsiddha Section showcasing women entrepreneurs’ creations, and the Telangana Stalls bringing traditional handlooms and cuisine to the event.
The Bara Balutedar Section will pay homage to Maharashtra’s traditional occupational communities with live demonstrations of rural craftsmanship, while the food area will tantalize your taste buds with authentic Maharashtrian dishes.
Workshops like the Saree Draping Workshop and the #ShareYourPrivilege Campaign will add an interactive element to the Jatra, encouraging cultural diversity and empowerment of women.
