Yerawada, a bustling suburb in Pune, is undergoing some major construction work near Shastri Nagar Chowk. As a grade separator and flyover are being built, boreholes are being installed for soil investigation from 12th to 16th December.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimal disruption to commuters, the Pune City Police Commissionerate’s Traffic Branch has introduced some temporary changes in the area. Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, who heads the Traffic Branch, has issued directives regarding these changes.

Here’s what you need to know:

1. Heavy Vehicles Restriction: Heavy vehicles of all kinds are prohibited from traveling from Shastri Nagar Chowk to Golf Club Chowk. The suggested alternate route is Shastri Nagar Chowk – Gunjan Chowk – Purnkuti Chowk – Mahatma Gandhi Garden Chowk – Tarkeshwar Chowk, followed by a left turn towards Sadal Baba Chowk and onward to the desired destination.

2. Four-Wheelers Route Adjustment: If you’re driving a four-wheeler from Shastri Nagar Chowk to Golf Club Chowk, you’ll need to head towards Gunjan Chowk, make a right turn towards Golf Club Chowk, and continue on your way.

3. Parking Restrictions: A No Parking and No Halting Zone has been enforced along the stretch from Shastri Nagar to Golf Club Chowk for a distance of 200 meters.

DCP Amol Zende has appealed to all residents to utilize the suggested alternative routes and extend their cooperation to the police during this period.
