1. Workers at Amazon’s warehouse in Pune took to the streets on Monday to protest against the company and its contractor for failing to implement a wage agreement signed three months ago. The strike was supported by veteran labor leader Dr. Baba Adhav.
  2. The demonstration, organized by Hamal Panchayat, was held outside Amazon’s warehouses in both Pune and Mumbai. Workers alleged that they have been receiving lower wages for the past four years and are not receiving essential social security benefits.
  3. Despite repeated follow-ups with government authorities, the situation remained unchanged. The workers had reached an agreement with the company three months ago, but the terms have not been honored, leaving them without their rightful wages and benefits.
  4. Representatives from Vaishali Transcarriers and Amazon India visited the protest site and assured workers that their demands would be met. However, Amazon has not taken an official position on the matter, according to Hamal Panchayat General Secretary Gorakh Mengde.
  5. Dr. Baba Adhav criticized Amazon for not honoring the agreement reached through discussions with workers, calling it a violation of workers’ rights. Amazon officials stated that suppliers and contractors must ensure fair wages for their employees, but they are not directly responsible for their wages.
  6. Discussions with the service provider are ongoing, and necessary steps are being taken to resolve the issue. The workers remain firm in their demands for fair wages and social security benefits, as the protest continues.
