  2. The Hindu Garjana Chashak Women’s and Men’s State-level Wrestling Competitions were inaugurated in a grand ceremony, with over 900 wrestlers participating in the event.
  3. Despite a tragedy in his family, Hon. Dheeraj Ghate, President of Hindu Garjana Pratishthan, has been dedicated to organizing wrestling competitions for the past four years, ensuring that wrestlers’ future is not adversely affected.
  4. State Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dattatraya Bharne emphasized the importance of providing a platform for wrestlers to showcase their skills, with women wrestlers also participating in the competition.
  5. The tournaments, held in cooperation with the Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, have been recognized by the Maharashtra Kustigir Sangh and the Pune Zilha Kustigir Sangh, with pugilists from various districts competing in different categories.
  6. The competitions feature bouts in under-14, under-17, senior, women’s, and open categories, with a total of 274 pugilists participating in under-14, 199 in under-17, and 198 in the senior category.
  7. The SP College ground on Tilak Road served as the venue for the competitions, with a stadium accommodating 10,000 spectators, two mud wrestling arenas, and ample parking space provided for attendees.
  8. Wrestlers from Pimpri-Chinchwad, Baramati, Maval, Haveli, Shirur, Mulshi, Indapur, Daund, Purandar, Bhor, Velhe, and Pune are competing in the contests, showcasing their talent and skills in the sport.
