In a shocking turn of events, a tourist from Pune was brutally assaulted in Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra. The incident took place near Zarap Zero Point on the Mumbai-Goa highway, where the tourist, Rupesh Baban Sakpal, was travelling with his friends.
The altercation began when Sakpal found a fly in his tea and requested a replacement. The hotel owner, Tanvir Karamat Shaikh, allegedly refused to provide a new cup, leading to a heated argument that quickly turned violent. Sakpal was tied up, laid on the road, and brutally assaulted by six individuals, including the hotel owner and his associates.
The police have registered a case against the accused, who are residents of Kudal. The victim’s companion, Sanjay Sudam Chavan, was also reportedly beaten during the altercation. The authorities are currently investigating the matter under the guidance of Police Inspector Rajendra Magdum.
