Hey Pune peeps, if you’re planning on heading towards Katraj Chowk anytime soon, you might want to rethink your route. The busy crossroad, which is a gateway to Pune, Mumbai, and other cities, is undergoing some major traffic diversions starting December 3.

So what’s the deal? Well, a flyover is currently under construction at Katraj Chowk, but the segmental launching work had to be put on hold due to heavy traffic and the lack of an alternative route to divert vehicles. Previous attempts at diversion failed, but fear not – a new plan is in place and work is set to resume.

Here’s what you need to know:

A) Heavy vehicles like dumpers, concrete mixers, and trailers will have ‘no entry’ at Katraj Chowk. Traffic from various directions, including Satara, Mumbai, Solapur, and Saswad, will also be diverted to avoid congestion.

B) ST and private buses will also face changes in their routes, so be sure to plan ahead if you rely on public transportation.

C) DCP (Traffic) Amol Zende is urging residents of Mangdewadi, Dattawadi, Handewadi, and Katraj to find alternative routes and avoid Katraj Chowk if possible.

So there you have it, folks. Stay informed, plan your travels accordingly, and hopefully, the traffic woes at Katraj Chowk will be a thing of the past soon. Stay safe out there!
