Get your running shoes ready, Puneites, because the ‘Apla Pune Marathon Season-4’ is back and bigger than ever! Organized by the Punit Balan Group (PBG), this marathon is set to attract over 10,000 runners on October 20 at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex.
With the support of the Pune Police, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporations, PMPML, and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), this year’s marathon aims to promote healthy living and raise awareness about the dangers of drug use. The motto? ‘Say no to drugs, yes to run.’
Featuring categories ranging from a 42-km Full Marathon to a 5-km Joy Run, the event caters to runners of all levels. Participants can also look forward to hydration stations, medical assistance, cheer zones, and a finisher selfie station to capture post-race memories.
In a special social responsibility run, funds raised will support social welfare projects in partnership with the Loha Foundation and the Rotary Club. IPS Krishna Prakash, the Honorary Race Director, will inspire participants with his fitness achievements and law enforcement background.
Athletes competing in the Apla Pune Marathon have the chance to win prizes worth a total of Rs 18 lakh, making it a competitive and rewarding experience. The event will also celebrate the 125 winners of the Apla Pune Marathon 2024 and recognize local influencers promoting a running culture in Pune.
