Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Camp today – the Election Commission of India (ECI) is pulling out all the stops to make sure that differently-abled voters have a smooth experience at the polling stations in Pune Cantonment Constituency for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. The aim? To get as many disabled voters as possible to participate in the democratic process. Assistant Election Returning Officer Siddharth Bhandare spilled the beans on this exciting development.

Over in the Shivajinagar Constituency, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) revealed that there are a whopping 5,100 disabled voters on the list. After some serious detective work, 395 differently-abled voters have been pinpointed by officials at the polling center level. And get this – there are also 10,311 voters who are 85 years old and above, with a whopping 226 of them being over the century mark!

To make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at casting their vote, wheelchairs have been lined up for disabled voters and elderly citizens aged 85 and above in Pune Cantonment Constituency. Nodal officer Navnath Chikane and his trusty team have managed to snag around 110 wheelchairs from hospitals and social institutions. But that’s not all – ramps, volunteers, interpreters, and even magnifying glasses have been arranged at the polling stations to help out disabled and senior voters.

Assistant Election Returning Officer Siddharth Bhandare is calling on all disabled voters and senior citizens to roll up to the polling stations, exercise their right to vote, and work hand-in-hand with the administration to make our democracy stronger. Sounds like a plan, doesn’t it? Let’s make sure everyone’s voice is heard loud and clear on Election Day!
