The peaceful annual yatra in Vadgaon Sheri took a chaotic turn when a group of miscreants decided to cause trouble in the middle of the night. The Chandannagar police have taken swift action and registered a case against 13 individuals involved in the incident.

The accused individuals have been identified as Ropi Someshwar Panchal, Sahil Rathod, Bajrang Patole, Swapnil Tupasmindre, Raj Gaikwad, Sharad Kamble, Rohit Rathod, Altaf Sheikh, Ganesh Salgar, Kunal Parihar, Omi, Vitthal, and Manoj Navgire. The complaint was filed by a resident named Rohit Dhanaji Desai.

The incident occurred around 1 AM on Saturday during the village deity’s two-day yatra. A group of individuals started causing a disturbance on the road, and when a local resident tried to intervene, things escalated. The mob armed with sticks entered an alley near Kurkute Hospital and began vandalizing vehicles, causing damage to two auto-rickshaws and 10 to 12 two-wheelers.

The sudden violence created panic among the residents of Vadgaon Sheri, leaving them shaken. However, the Chandannagar Police acted quickly and managed to apprehend the accused individuals who had initially fled the scene. The police are now conducting further investigations into the matter to ensure that justice is served.
