Abhay Mohan, the 16-year-old racing sensation, has officially cemented his place in the motorsport world by clinching his first championship in the MRF Formula 1600 category. With an impressive record of 11 wins out of 12 races, Abhay’s debut season was nothing short of remarkable, with only Mumbai’s Zahan Commissariat managing to edge him out in one race.

Expressing his overwhelming gratitude, Abhay stated, “Winning a championship in my debut season is great, but I can’t find words to express my happiness. It was a good run overall and I thank my JA Motorsports, my family, and friends for their support.”

But Abhay wasn’t the only one making waves at the event. Biren Pithawalla from Mumbai secured the Indian Touring Cars title, while Srinivas Teja from Chennai emerged victorious in the Indian Junior Touring Cars category. Despite facing setbacks in the last two races, Viswas Vijayaraj from Nellore managed to claim the Formula LGB 1300 title.

One of the most notable moments of the day came from Mira Erda, who made history by winning her first single-seater race since 2014. This victory marked a significant milestone as the first-ever win by a female driver in the FLGB 1300 category.

The post-lunch session of the event did face some delays due to crashes and spins, but the racing action remained intense and exciting throughout the day, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
