In a heartwarming turn of events, the RESQ Wildlife Treatment and Transit Centre in Bavdhan has become a safe haven for 182 injured birds following a devastating storm that hit the Someshwar sugar factory area. The storm, which occurred on Thursday night, left a trail of destruction in its wake, uprooting trees and leaving numerous avian creatures wounded or displaced.

Among the injured birds are 146 rose-ringed parakeets, 30 Baya weavers, two Cattle egrets, one purple sunbird, one Brahminy kite, and two painted storks. Thanks to the dedicated team at RESQ, these birds have been receiving urgent medical care and attention.

Neha Panchamiya, the founder of RESQ TTC, commended her team for their tireless efforts in rescuing and caring for the injured birds amidst the chaos. Nachiket Utpat, the director of wildlife conservation at RESQ, shared that the birds will undergo medical tests to assess their ability to eat and fly before being released back into their natural habitat.

It’s heartening to see these beautiful creatures receiving the care and support they need to recover and return to the wild. Kudos to the team at RESQ for their dedication and compassion towards wildlife in need.
