Hey there, Pune peeps! Exciting news coming your way from Ushahkal Abhinav Institute of Medical Sciences in Sangli. Today, a 32-year-old male patient who was being treated for venous thrombosis decided to become an organ donor. This guy, who was an epilepsy sufferer and worked as a farmer, was unmarried and his family, also farmers, gave the green light for the donation of his liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, skin, and corneas to those in need.

The donated organs were quickly allocated and transported to hospitals in Pune and Mumbai for transplantation to those on the waiting list. Kudos to the donor’s family for their selfless act and a big shoutout to all the teams and authorities involved in making this happen.

This donation marks the 32nd one in the ZTCC Pune zone this year, with a total of 41 kidney transplants, 27 liver transplants, 3 heart transplants, 5 lung transplants, and 1 heart-lung transplant. Way to go for spreading awareness about the importance of organ donation and saving lives!
