With the general elections for the Legislative Assembly just around the corner, the NCP-SP party wasted no time in accepting applications from interested candidates starting from 28th August. This move was spearheaded by NCP founder Sharad Pawar and State president Jayant Patil, who were impressed by the party’s strong organizational structure and the high number of aspirants in each constituency.
Originally, the deadline for applications was set for 4th September. However, due to the overwhelming response, it was extended until 10th September to accommodate more candidates. Pune city president Prashant Jagtap revealed that a total of 41 applications have been received from across the city’s eight constituencies. These applicants will soon undergo interviews, and their names will then be forwarded to the State President for final consideration.
