Hey Pune peeps, did you hear about the unexpected visit from the Anti-Corruption Bureau to the RTO office? Yep, on Monday afternoon, ACB officers stormed in, catching the staff off guard and causing a major ruckus. The licensing department folks vanished into thin air, bringing the regular work to a screeching halt.

The inspectors started digging into documents, slowing down all the transactions and making everyone’s life a bit more complicated. The chaos spilled over to Tuesday, with more people flocking to the RTO office, hoping to get things sorted.

Even though the MSRTC has a Faceless facility, citizens still have to show up at the RTO office for their tasks. The ACB crew barged in around lunchtime on Monday, triggering a mass exodus of workers from their posts. The scrutiny of vehicle documents added to the mess, creating a madhouse at the RTO office until late in the evening. And guess what? The next day wasn’t any better, with long lines forming in the license department as folks tried to finish what they started.

We tried reaching out to Regional Transport Officer Archana Gaikwad for a statement, but no luck there. Vitthal Mehta, the big boss at a driving school in Pune, shared his thoughts on the situation, mentioning how the manpower shortage in the license department seems to have been addressed. He even suggested opening up another hall to manage the crowd better.

Well, that’s the latest scoop from the RTO office in Pune. Stay tuned for more updates!
